Prairie Oaks and Willow Springs
The Prairie Oaks and Willow Springs neighborhoods are located in Folsom, California. Conveniently located near Highway 50, and only about a 25 minute drive from Downtown Sacramento. It is located near the half way point between the San Francisco Bay Area and Lake Tahoe.
Fun fact: During the California Gold Rush era there was a town called "Prairie City". Although the exact location of Prairie City has been lost through the passage of time, most historians believe that it was located in the general area of Prairie Oaks.
The residential construction of the Prairie Oaks and Willow Springs neighborhoods began in the mid 1990’s and ran through the early 2000’s; with several different builders building homes in the area. Most of the homes are built on comfortably sized lots, some of which back to greenbelt nature preserves. The Willow Springs neighborhood is built around a small reservoir, wetland creating a lovely, peaceful ambiance.
The highly desired Sandra J Gallardo Elementary School is nestled in the center of the neighborhood, which also provides enrollment access to Sutter Middle School and Folsom High School. Folsom Lake Community College is also just a few short miles away from this community.
Just across Prairie City Road is Folsom City’s largest employer, the Intel Corporation. Safeway Grocery Store, Starbucks, Folsom Premium Outlets, and several bike trails and walking trails are also within a few miles of this community. Several local parks, such as Lembi Park and Kemp Park are just minutes away. It is located near Historic Folsom, Folsom City Park, Folsom Zoo, Folsom Aquatic center, Folsom Public Library and the new soon to be opened Folsom Palladio Shopping Mall.
